EMS places great value on the most sustainable production possible:
EMS operates CO2-free at all locations worldwide.
In 2006 already, with the start-up of the biomass power plant at the production site in Domat/Ems, EMS achieved an 85% reduction in CO2 emissions.
Since 2020, the electricity supply at production and sales locations has been 100% CO2-neutral hydroelectricity.
EMS has reduced electricity consumption by 43% since 2001.
EMS has reduced water consumption by 61% since 2001.
EMS consequently follows its principles of waste management, prevention of air pollution as well as work and process safety. Further data in this respect can be found under Environmental Protection & Safety.

EMS vouches for sustainable business activities:
We consider it an ongoing task to continually improve processes and products.
Reduction of CO2 is the core of EMS' business model.
Through replacement of metal with our speciality plastic products up to 2/3 of the original component weight can be saved by our customers. This leads e.g. in automotive construction to significant reductions in weight and, therefore, in fuel consumption, which also allows a significant reduction in CO2 emissions to be achieved. Our weight-saving system solutions with special polymers enable customers to achieve an additional annual reduction of CO2 emissions corresponding to more than 100,000 flights from Zurich to New York.
Our plastic materials are used for thermal and photovoltaic solar panels, small wind turbines etc.
Our high-performance resins are used in the manufacture of rotors for wind power plants.
