GRILON melt bonding yarns and binder fibers, GRILON bicomponent binder fibers and GRILTEX hot melt adhesives are key components in the reinforcement of technical textile constructions.
GRILTEX Copolyesters are used to bond smooth surfaces such as PET or aluminium. The flexibility of the adhesives compensates the tension between substrates with different expansion coefficients.
NEXYLON FR is the world's first flame-retardant polyamide fiber. Using this fiber the working life of flame-resistant protective wear can be significantly increased. Wearing comfort is also much higher with its soft touch. There is potential for other interesting applications in technical textiles requiring inherent flame resistance.
Our products are used as production aids or as matrix material in fiber reinforced composite parts. Special GRILON binder yarns have been developed for the stabilization of carbon or glass fiber fabrics. The binder fiber is used as a processing aid in the preforming step of the RTM process (resin transfer molding).
GRILTEX adhesives are used in form of suspensions, powder or granules for the consolidation of unidirectional tapes and stabilization of fabrics.
The impact strength of the final composite will be strongly improved by using GRILTEX hot melt adhesives or GRILON melt bonding yarn.
