The invitation to the Annual General Meeting of the EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG in Domat/Ems on August 12, 2017 was followed by a large gathering of 2,329 people. A total of 19,969,586 registered shares were represented, corresponding to 92.12% of all shares entitled to vote.

The young soloists of the "Schlossoper Haldenstein" entertained the shareholders with their powerful vocal performance and Mozart's opera "The Abduction from the Seraglio". The official part was brought to a close by the renowned Drum Corps Domat/Ems led by Andri Seglias

A further highlight was the presentation of innovative applications by EMS employees and EMS customers. These are made of EMS specialty polymers and developed in mutual "industrial partnerships". To demonstrate the toughness and flexibility of EMS specialty polymers in a motorcycle, the Swiss Motocross rider Alex Zanetta even rode his bike through the shareholders and over the stage with a jump!

As official business, the Annual General Meeting approved all proposals from the Board of Directors. The shareholders will receive payment of an ordinary dividend of CHF 13.00 gross and an extra-ordinary dividend of CHF 4.00 gross for each dividend-bearing registered share. Dividend payment will commence on August 17, 2017. EMS shares will be traded ex-dividend from August 15, 2017.

Existing Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ulf Berg, as well as the members Magdalena Martullo, Dr. Joachim Streu and Bernhard Merki were re-elected for a further term of office of one year. Ernst & Young AG, Zurich, was elected new statutory auditor; Dr. iur. Robert K. Däppen was re-elected as independent proxy for a further one-year term.

In the specially extended marquee on the production site at Domat/Ems, shareholders were served a delicious lunch. 8 chefs from the Cantinetta Bialla together with 46 helpers from the sports club Männerriege Tamins and the Country Women's Association were responsible for the preparation of 187 kg salad, 103 kg Grisons air-dried meat, 695 kg roast, 386 kg beans, 463 kg potatoes and 104 kg chocolate mousse.
